Facilities
The ski pistes are located in two main ski - centres- Shiligarnika (1700-2500 m) & Chalin Valog (1100-1600 m).
Located approximately 10 km above the town on the
northern slopes of Pirin, both are easily accessible on
the new Gondola lift which starts from Bansko. The total
length of the marked pistes is 70 kilometres.
Snowboarding In Bansko
Bansko is a perfect winter resort not only for skiing but also for snowboarding. Snowboarding services in Bansko are available to clients aged 12 and over.
Complete with brilliant runs and fantastic powder up to your knees,
the conditions for boarders are excellent.
Snowboarders can use the special attraction park in Bansko to build jumps suiting their taste and abilities.
In addition to on-piste skiing, skiers and snowboarders are welcome to the fun park in the Platoto
area which offers fans of the extreme winter sports the option to ski over present artificial bumps and jumps as well as to build those on their own.
The half-pipe there offers both skiers and snowboarders an arena to boast their latest tricks.
Apres Ski
Nightlife in Bansko is varied. Bansko combines traditional and modern places to go out. The town has about 45 pubs, 20 restaurants, and several night clubs.
Bansko’s traditional taverns called Mehana offer local atmosphere with great cuisine and a good selection of Bulgarian wines.
Many Mehanas even offer live folk music. Most menus offer light snacks, cheese boards and a selection of cured meats.
Most Mehanas remain open until the last person leaves.
The local cafes and bars offer varieties of refreshments.
The town square, a popular meeting place for both locals and tourists, is lined with street cafés serving both imported beers as well as the high quality local brews.
There is always a wide selection of wines and spirits available.
Discos and nightclubs in Bansko work till late at night and usually throw great parties.
